I draw maps and diagrams in a range of different styles, and for a wide variety of audiences. While I primarily draw maps for academic monographs, I also draw maps for decoration, gaming, and more. Additionally, I can draw diagrams and family trees, as well as reproductions of historical scripts. To see examples of each type, click on the links!

Maps for Publication

Do you need a map for a forthcoming book or article? I can help with that! My background in academia means that I understand research and writing, and means that I know what questions to ask to make sure that your maps will support your work and help your reader access your text. My maps are clean, clear and easily legible, and I will collaborate with you to ensure that the end product helps you tell your story. As a practical matter, I have experience working with both trade and academic presses, and I will provide you with maps that are ready for publication. My baseline price for a grayscale map of this type is $400 USD. Click the link above for examples!

I have a partial list of publications containing Surprised Eel Maps here.

Maps for Decoration and Gaming

Maps can help us recall special moments, escape the world for a while, and imagine far-flung ideas or distant spaces. They can be wonderful for gifts, for gaming, and for decoration. If you have an idea for such a map, I will work with you to craft a piece of custom cartography that brings your vision to life. Generally, these maps cost between $600 and $1000. Diagrams and More

In addition to custom maps, I also can produce diagrams, charts, and more. My rates for these start at $100 per item for simple diagrams and family trees, and increase depending on size and complexity. Click the link above for examples!
